
The #9 (2A) Aplington-Parkersburg volleyball team couldn’t hang onto a 2-1 lead, and fell in five sets at home to Hudson in NICL-Central action Tuesday.
After being tied at 20 in set 1, Hudson scored five of the final six to win 25-21. But the Falcons had a tenacious comeback in set 2. Leading by as many as 10, they tied the match with a 25-20 win. After pulling out to another large lead in set 3, Hudson applied pressure and gained momentum, but AP won 25-20. The Falcons trailed late in the fourth set, but battled to a 23-23 tie before the Pirates scored the final two for a 25-23 win. Trailing early in set 5, the Falcons battled to a 10-10 tie. But Hudson scored five of the final six to win the match.
In their next action, AP will be at #3 (2A) Dike-New Hartford on Tuesday, September 30.
