#10 (2A) Aplington-Parkersburg will travel to #3 (2A) Dike-New Hartford in a state tournament rematch and the NICL-Central volleyball finale for both teams Tuesday. It’ll air on RadioOnTheGo’s YouTube channel.

The Wolverines (23-6, 2-1 NICL-C) are coming off Saturday’s tournament at #8 (5A) Iowa City Liberty, where they defeated the hosts, Iowa City High and #8 (3A) Mount Vernon, and fell to #5 (5A) Pleasant Valley. During the tournament, setter Kailyn Meester recorded her 500th career assist.

“She’s growing into her role, understanding when we should set certain people, how we should get certain people involved,” Head Coach Diane Harms says. “And just a few of the little nuances from that position, we keep talking with her about things and she does a great job getting to be more offensive herself and just all that understanding. And every time we play, she’s just getting better and better at making her decisions.”

The Falcons (19-6, 1-2 NICL-C) have had a week off since a gut-wrenching five-set home loss to #14 (2A) Hudson. They’ll look to bounce back from a night where they hit just .135 and committed an unsightly 16 service errors.

A DNH win would clinch the Central’s #2 seed in next week’s conference tournament, and would lock the Falcons into #4. An AP win would create a three-way tie with Hudson and the Wolverines, with the tiebreaker being set win percentage.

The Falcons will go for their first win over the Wolverines since 2007. DNH has won 22 straight meetings. Coverage will start at 7:15 p.m., followed by the first serve at 7:30.
