The bracket for the annual North Iowa Cedar League Volleyball Tournament has been announced. The first round and quarterfinals will be Tuesday, October 7, and the semifinals and finals will be Thursday, October 9.
As division champions, #4 (2A) Grundy Center, #1 (2A) Denver and #5 (2A) Union will host in the first round and quarterfinals. This year, the West runner-up is the fourth host for opening night, which is #8 (1A) Gladbrook-Reinbeck.
The Rebels will host Oelwein in the first round, followed by #10 (2A) Aplington-Parkersburg vs. #8 (2A) Sumner-Fredericksburg.
Grundy Center will take on Columbus Catholic in the first round, followed by #2 (2A) Dike-New Hartford taking on #15 (2A) Jesup.
Denver will play East Marshall, followed by AGWSR vs. #9 (2A) Wapsie Valley.
In La Porte City, the Knights have the yearly rotating first round bye, and will take on the #13 (2A) Hudson vs. South Hardin winner in the quarterfinal.
After the first round, the consolations and quarterfinals will take place. The championship brackets and three consolation pods will follow on Thursday.
