The Franklin County Board of Supervisors met Monday morning for their regular session at the courthouse, approving several resolutions and financial updates.
Supervisors voted to amend the fiscal year 2026 county budget, adding just over $48,000 in expenditures. The changes cover costs for a K-9 vehicle and outfitting, special election expenses, and courthouse HVAC and IT upgrades. The amendment also includes about $11,000 in new revenue from election reimbursements and fund transfers.
The board approved a subdivision waiver for landowner Julie Salvesen, allowing a parcel split in Section 29 of Franklin County. Supervisors also approved a construction contract and bond with All Iowa Roofing of Des Moines for the courthouse roof project, totaling $140,000.
In addition, the supervisors passed a resolution naming county depositories under Iowa Code Section 12C, setting maximum fund amounts for departments at First Bank Hampton and United Bank & Trust Co. in Hampton.
The board also approved an employment agreement with Secondary Roads Engineer Jay Waddingham, acknowledged quarterly reports from the auditor and recorder, and received department updates from Sheriff Aaron Dodd, Auditor Katy Flint, and Summit Carbon Solutions. The board will meet again tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. for a special session to canvass results of the Sept. 30 CAL Community School District special election.
