The Dike-New Hartford girls tennis team advanced to the final four of the IGHSAU Class 1A tennis team state tournament. The Wolverines earned a 5-3 win over Spencer Monday to advance. Originally scheduled to be played at Caldwell Park in Pella, the Wolverines competed indoors at Grinnell College due to weather.
In singles, DNH got wins by Addy Joslin, Lauren Muller, Tareya Johnson and Autumn Meester. After losses by Haley Badker and Payton Foster, the Wolverines played doubles for the first time in the team postseason. They went 1-1 to secure the win and advance to the next round.
Originally scheduled for Monday, the semifinals will take place Tuesday at 9:00 a.m., where the Wolverines will take on Xavier, Cedar Rapids. They’ll finish the season with either the championship or third place dual later in the day.
