The Hardin County Board of Supervisors on Wednesday approved several items during their regular meeting, including an upcoming immunization clinic for county employees, scheduled for October 27 as part of a broader wellness initiative.
Hardin Supervisors also acknowledged ongoing delays in property tax collection. A staffing shortage, along with a high volume of incorrectly written checks, is slowing processing. No immediate solution was finalized, though the board is expected to revisit the issue. It was noted that the situation is impacting the county’s ability to manage incoming revenue efficiently.
The board also approved submitting a recommendation to the Iowa DNR for an animal confinement permit at an existing facility in Section 8 of Providence Township. A utility project from Interstate Power and Light was also approved, allowing for the replacement and relocation of a transformer southeast of Alden.
