A conference champion of arguably Iowa’s most competitive league will be crowned Thursday on Night 2 of the North Iowa Cedar League Volleyball Tournament.

#6 (2A) Union will host the championship pod. In the first semifinal, the Knights will take on #2 (2A) Dike-New Hartford. The Wolverines won each conference title since the tournament’s inception in 2021 until falling short in last year’s quarterfinal. They’ll face the Knights for the second time this season, having won 2-0 at a home triangular on Tuesday, September 9.

In the second semifinal, #1 (2A) Denver will face #7 (1A) Gladbrook-Reinbeck. The Cyclones have appeared in the finals of each conference tournament, and won for the first time last season. The Rebels are appearing in the final four for the first time.

The winners of the semifinals will meet in the championship match, and the losers will meet in the third place match. Dike-New Hartford’s matches will air on RadioOnTheGo’s YouTube channel, with the first serve against Union scheduled for 5:00.

#4 (2A) Grundy Center will host the pod where teams will battle for fifth place. They’ll take on South Hardin, followed by #9 (2A) Aplington-Parkersburg facing #11 (2A) Wapsie Valley.

#13 (2A) Jesup will host another consolation pod, where they’ll play Hudson and #10 (2A) Sumner-Fredericksburg will face East Marshall.

Columbus Catholic will host the triangular, which will include AGWSR and Oelwein.
