IFA Football taken down at Clear Lake Friday

ifa-2

The Iowa Falls-Alden football team was no match for #1 (3A) Clear Lake Friday, falling 56-0 in a game that aired on 104.9 KLMJ and RadioOnTheGo’s YouTube channel.
The Lions were as efficient as one could imagine, scoring on nearly every drive. The Cadets never found an answer on either offense or defense. Clear Lake put the running clock rule in effect in the second quarter, and led 43-0 at halftime. They scored twice more in the second half, and held the Cadets to just 61 yards of offense.

“We knew they were gonna be very athletic in a lot of places and we had to do things right,” IFA coach Eric Walkingstick says. “And we did some things early that we like, but the thing is, we kind of got our heads down a little bit and it’s definitely something we talked about we couldn’t do, and it cost us. We just got behind in body language and how we how we responded was not where we needed to be, and it cost. We’ve got to do a better job keeping our head for sure.”

Clear Lake’s Sam Dodge was an x-factor, with nine rushes for 120 yards and four touchdowns.

In their next action, Iowa Falls-Alden will host Independence in Week 8.
