The Meservey City Council met in regular session Monday (Oct. 13) evening and handled a number of items tied to the city’s ongoing new well project.

Council members approved three pay requests.  One to Cahoy Pump Service, one to JB Holland Construction, and another to Dakota Supply Group for meter work. The council also approved a change order with Dakota Supply Group for one-inch meters and agreed to keep one of each smaller-sized meter on hand as spares.

Discussion continued regarding electrical grounding concerns with newly installed plastic water meters. The council voted unanimously that any grounding repairs would be the homeowner’s responsibility and directed the city clerk, along with the city’s attorney, to draft a letter informing residents of the issue.

In other business, the council heard public input about a nuisance property complaint, where residents expressed frustration over an unmaintained house attracting pests. Officials said the matter remains under review in coordination with the county health department.

The council also approved trick-or-treat night for Thursday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The next regular meeting of the Meservey City Council is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 10, at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
