The Iowa Falls School Board this week received an update on the high school construction project. The board learned the main focus is completing the wrestling room in time for the first day of girls’ wrestling on November 3rd.
The board received an update on initial certified enrollment counts. While nothing is official, the board learned enrollment is up about nine students. IF-A Superintendent Tony Neumann says that is welcome news after a few years of declining enrollment in the district.
Other items included the approval of work from King’s Construction to support a student project that will start in the spring. Members of the high school carpentry class will construct a new concession stand at the softball field and track complex. The Iowa Falls board also approved paying for game officials from the general fund to help offset the continuing shortfall the district has in athletics.
