The AGWSR volleyball team will begin postseason play by hosting Collins-Maxwell in a 1A Region 8 first round match Monday, which’ll air on 99 The Wave.
The Cougars (6-29) will look to snap a five-match losing streak, having been swept by each opponent in that stretch. They’ll look to build upon the offense of senior middle hitter Brylea Metzgar, whose 2.0 kills per set leads the team.
The Spartans (4-24) are coming off a 1-2 outing at Saturday’s Iowa Star Conference Tournament Silver Bracket, where they defeated Valley Lutheran and fell to Clarksville and Riceville. They’ve hit negative on the season, and no players have averaged a kill per set.
Coverage will start at 6:45 p.m., followed by the first serve at 7:00. The winner will advance to Wednesday’s regional quarterfinal against either St. Edmond or Colo-Nesco.
