Clarksville Volleyball Visits Rockford to Begin 1A Postseason on Monday

The Clarksville volleyball team will look to track down their first postseason win since 2020, as they visit fellow Iowa Star Conference North member Rockford in Class 1A Region 5 first round action on Monday. 

Clarksville (6-21) went 2-1 at Saturday’s Iowa Star Conference Tournament Silver Bracket at Rockford, with wins over Collins-Maxwell and Baxter, and a loss to Tripoli. Paige Kampman has been a difference maker with a team best 1.4 kills per set and 157 digs. Hannah Wangsness has set the table for scoring opportunities with 168 assists at 3.3 per set.

Rockford (17-9) went 3-0 in Saturday’s Iowa Star Conference Tournament Silver Bracket tournament on their home court, with sweeps over Colo-Nesco, Baxter and Tripoli. The hitting duo of Danika deBuhr with 2.1 kills per set and Hannah Hillman with 2.1 kills per set have helped the Warriors find their stride. 

This will be the third meeting between the teams this season. The Warriors won the first two meetings on September 13 and 16.

First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Rockford. The winner will advance to face Newman Catholic or West Hancock in a 1A regional quarterfinal on Wednesday.
