This November, LifeServe Blood Center is urging Iowans to donate blood and help patients who rely on transfusions during the holiday season. As families gather to celebrate, many hospital patients remain in treatment and depend on the generosity of volunteer donors.
Local blood drives next month include Iowa Falls on November 3 and 17, Clarion on November 4, Ackley on November 12, and Hampton on November 24. Appointments are encouraged, as holiday travel, weather, and busy schedules often reduce donations—even though patient needs stay the same. LifeServe says a single donation can give strength to someone fighting cancer, recovering from surgery, or facing a traumatic injury. LifeServe, a nonprofit blood center serving the region since 1947, supplies 175 hospitals across Iowa and neighboring states.
Appointments may be scheduled at lifeservebloodcenter.org or by calling 800-287-4903.
