Iowa Falls-Alden Volleyball Travels to New Hampton for Class 3A Playoff Opener on Tuesday

The Iowa Falls-Alden volleyball team will look to track down their first postseason win since 2021, when they visit New Hampton for a Class 3A Region 5 quarterfinal on Tuesday. It will be the first meeting between the team since 2013. The match will air on 99 The Wave.

Iowa Falls-Alden (15-15) enters on a three match win streak, that included wins over Hampton-Dumont-CAL, #7 (1A) Ankeny Christian and Clear Lake. Carlea Dagel with 3.2 kills and Leah Allen with 2.4 kills per set have captained the offense. The duo each have over 200 kills apiece. Kymri Koenigsfeld has provided defensive aid with a team leading 271 digs at 3.1 per set.   

New Hampton (19-12) won five of their final six regular season matches, before falling 3-0 to North Fayette Valley on October 16. Aleigha Cahoy has been the Chickasaws top attacker with 3.9 kills per set and has surpassed 300 kills for the season. Cahoy is also their top defender with 234 digs. 

Pregame coverage will begin at 6:45 p.m. followed by the first serve at 7:00 p.m. in New Hampton. The winner will advance to face #5 (3A) Humboldt or Charles City in a Class 3A regional semifinal on Thursday.
