Mayoral and Council Seats Up for Grabs in Cerro Gordo County

There are a few contested races in Cerro Gordo County heading into November’s city/school election. 

In Meservey, incumbent Mayor Richard Miller is being challenged by Denis Avery. 

In Rockwell, Larry Wentz is seeking another term as mayor and will run uncontested. Five people are running for three seats on the city council; they are Don O’Connor, Patrick Hurley, Bradley Meyer, Abbie Emhoff and Tracy Worley. 

In Swaledale, incumbent Mayor Laura Starbuck is not on the ballot and the seat will be decided by a write-in vote as no names are listed. There are also two city council seats up for reelection in Swaledale, both of which will be decided by write-in votes. 

This year’s city/school election is November 4th.
