Governor Kim Reynolds has shared her initial response to the final report and recommendations from the Iowa DOGE Task Force. The governor was joined by task force chair Emily Schmitt during a press conference Monday in Des Moines.
The report, submitted to the governor on September 29th, follows 180 days of statewide engagement involving several state agencies, focus groups, and feedback from more than 5,000 Iowans across all 99 counties.
Reynolds said the task force’s work builds on her administration’s efforts to streamline government and improve efficiency.
Task force chair Emily Schmitt said the recommendations aim to make Iowa’s government more efficient and collaborative.
During the news conference, Governor Reynolds also addressed public concerns about IPERS, the state’s largest public pension fund, emphasizing that benefits are secure.
Reynolds added that her administration will review the task force’s recommendations in the coming months to determine potential implementation.
