The Iowa Governor’s Charity Steer Show is continuing to make a big impact for families across the state. Organizers from the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association and the Iowa Beef Industry Council will present a check for more than $569,000 to the Eastern Iowa Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City on Monday (10/27/25).
The donation represents another record-breaking year for the annual fundraiser, which takes place each August at the Iowa State Fair. Twenty-five youth participants, sponsors, and local celebrities team up each year to raise funds by showing and auctioning off steers, with all proceeds benefiting the three Ronald McDonald House Charities of Iowa — in Iowa City, Des Moines, and Sioux City.
Among the youth taking part in this year’s event was 13-year-old Tate Lundt of Rockwell, a member of the West Fork Winners 4-H Club. Since its start in 1983, the Governor’s Charity Steer Show has raised more than $6 million to support families of hospitalized children across Iowa.
