The West Fork football team will be on the hunt for their first playoff win since 2020, as they make a trip to #10 (A) Nashua-Plainfield for a Class A first round matchup on Friday.
West Fork (6-2) concluded the regular season with a 55-12 win at home over Lake Mills last week. The Warhawks have produced 2,328 rushing yards (fifth most in Class A). Dax Suntken leads the team with 1,003 yards and 12 touchdowns. Blaine Schulz with six touchdowns and Tyler Fessler with five touchdowns have added depth to the ground game. The Warhawks defense has allowed only three opponents to score over 20 points this season. Head Coach Dan Westhoff.
“The game’s gonna come down to mental discipline, turnovers, big plays, and having the mental toughness to fight through adversity. Both teams are gonna go through it,” says Westhoff. “Excited to get our kids to this opportunity. We worked a long time to get here, especially for our seniors that have stuck it out. We had won five games in three years. They won six games this year. Really happy that they’re rewarded for their efforts with a playoff berth. It’s gonna be an exciting game. We’ll be ready to go.”
Nashua-Plainfield (7-1) concluded the regular season with a 47-6 win at Clayton Ridge last week. The Huskies also have a powerful run game with 2,022 yards. Navarri Williams has a bulk of the carries with 765 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Huskies defense leads Class A with 11 forced fumbles.
This will be the first meeting between the teams since 2020.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
