This week, the Windsor Theatre in Hampton is hosting the world premiere of a short film titled “The Gray,” a suspenseful thriller from Marketplace Media’s Les Nelson. The debut is set for Thursday (Oct. 30). Filmed in Leland — just north of Forest City — the movie follows six cousins camping near their grandmother’s farm who encounter a mysterious creature that only appears in the unsettling time between sunset and darkness.
Nelson developed the concept as an engaging, family-friendly thriller designed to keep junior high audiences on edge with its blend of mystery, wonder, and heart. Highlighting its local roots, the cast and crew feature several Hampton area names, including members of the Andy and Jayna Hofer and Nathan and Yolanda Pralle families, Wendy Buseman, Bella Duran, Reed Masters, Liberty Varrelman, and Jim Davies.
Doors open this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. for the red carpet event, with the premiere at 7:00 p.m. followed by a question and answer session with members of the cast and crew. Tickets are $5 and are available at the door or online at www.windsortheatre.com.
