Hampton City Manager Ron Dunt announced that the city’s burn ban will be lifted from November 1st through November 30th.

During this time, burning will be allowed only between 12:00 p.m. (noon) and darkness, defined as the time when streetlights come on. Burning is restricted to yard waste only.

Residents must ensure all burns occur at least 20 feet from any structure or building and that fires are supervised by a competent person at all times. Fires should not be left unattended until they are fully extinguished.

If the smoke generated is excessive, you may be instructed to extinguish the burn until items are drier and likely to create less smoke. Violations will be enforced with the potential for citations and fines for non-compliance.
