Final Call of the Match:

Head Coach Diane Harms shares what fueled their timely scoring runs and the feeling of a state bid.

“Take a breath for a moment. We need to have a couple of good balls in a row. They came out we had a couple points, created a lead and got a little bit of breathing room. We did execute very well those last six, seven balls. We got our focus back and our execution where we wanted it,” says Harms. “It’s always special. We have so many girls that for the first time they’re gonna be actually playing down there at the state tournament. That’s so much fun to go down there. We have a different group, different team.”

Keely Kauten had 10 kills and Rylee Riecks added nine kills to lead the Wolverines. Kauten notes effort as a difference maker.

I feel like we all put in the effort and it shows, especially on the blocking, hitting and passing in the back row. It was great,” says Kauten. “It’s awesome. I can’t wait to play at the state tournament and just show everybody what we got.”

Dike-New Hartford (38-9) will be the #2 seed at the state tournament and will face #7 seeded Aplington-Parkersburg in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday, November 4.
