The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Community School District has selected a familiar leader to serve as its next superintendent.
Pending board approval, current PreK–8 principal Jared Carder has been chosen to step into the district’s top administrative role. Carder currently oversees 775 students and 86 staff members and has played a key role in academic alignment, communication improvements, and professional development within the district.
Board President Troy Seaba says Carder’s leadership and dedication make him the right fit for the position. Seaba says Carder has shown a strong commitment to providing the best possible learning experiences for students and the district looks forward to his continued impact.
Carder has previously served as an elementary principal in both Clarion-Goldfield-Dows and Eagle Grove. Before becoming an administrator, he was a physical education teacher and coach, earning recognition in 2018 as the SHAPE Iowa Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year.
Carder says he is grateful for the opportunity and excited to continue strengthening student learning and creating new opportunities for growth across the district.
The school board partnered with Grundmeyer Leader Services to conduct the superintendent search. Carder is set to officially begin his new role on July 1, 2026.
