Iowa families have a chance to boost their education savings this holiday season.
State Treasurer Roby Smith has announced the ISave 529 Winter Giveaway, which will award one winner a $5,290 contribution toward their ISave 529 education savings account. The giveaway runs through December 31.
Smith says the initiative is a fun way to encourage families to start planning ahead for education costs. Iowans can enter by visiting ISave529.com/contest and registering a child in their life. Additional entries can be earned by setting up automatic investments, adding a successor, and other account actions.
ISave 529 is Iowa’s direct-sold education savings plan, allowing families to save for future expenses such as college or career training. Accounts can be opened with as little as $25, and contributions may be tax-deductible for Iowa residents.
