As the government shutdown continues to affect families relying on SNAP benefits, Puffer Roske Farms is stepping in to help those in need.
Located at the junction of Highways 57 and 65 northeast of Iowa Falls, the family-run farm in a Facebook post says that anyone on SNAP can stop by to receive a dozen eggs and five pounds of potatoes free of charge.
“God has blessed us with an abundance this year,” said owner Charlie Puffer. “We had extra and would rather see someone use it than see it go to waste. We’re just giving back to the community that’s always supported us.”
