
The city/school elections in Wright County featured a few contested mayoral races and brought a new mayor to Rowan.
Incumbent Mayor Lennea Groom was defeated by current council member Dale Hollman by a vote count of 25-9.
In Belmond, incumbent Mayor Frank Beminio will serve another term as he defeated challenger, Calista Henry, by a vote count of 380-180.
During Tuesday’s election, Belmond residents overwhelmingly passed a bond referendum that would use up to $3 million to help fund a new pool. The referendum passed with over 91% approval. The bond received 600 yes votes and 59 no votes.
