The Clarksville City Council met in regular session Monday and received an update from CPA Larry Pump, who presented the city’s annual examination results, offering recommendations for improvement.
The council discussed leasing fuel barrels from the Co-op for $1 per year, with members weighing options for tracking fuel use and preventing theft through a computerized system. It was stated that pumps to monitor fuel usage would cost roughly $5,000. No action was taken by the council.
Council members also reviewed employee health insurance options, voting to approve a Wellmark HRA plan at a total cost of $86,622.24.
Discussion continued on adding or testing stop and yield signs in high-traffic areas to improve safety and clarify fault in accidents. Police Chief Barry Mackey suggested doing a test run of stop signs in areas that are problematic and then making appropriate changes from there.
