
The Clarion City Council met Tuesday.
During public comment, Janelle Basinger of Reel & Rooted reported a garbage nuisance from a construction site near her shop. Basinger detailed the situation to the council and described efforts already made to address the issue. Police Chief TerHark said an officer would follow up to ensure expectations are understood. City Administrator Clint Middleton also contacted the property owner the next day.
The city plans to check several downtown benches owned by the Clarion Development Alliance after concerns were raised about their stability.
In department reports, Greg Littlejohn, representing the fire department, promoted an upcoming chili fundraiser benefiting the EMS ambulance service. The event will take place Nov. 19 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the ambulance shed.
