The Greene City Council will meet Monday with a full agenda that includes leadership changes, budget matters and updates on city projects. The council is set to accept the resignation of Council Member Marnie Schmidt and will then consider filling the vacancy via appointment.

The council will also consider accepting the resignation of Mayor Warren Van Dyke. Van Dyke ran for reelection during last week’s election but lost in a three-way race. Galen Lindell received the most votes in the race and is set to be the next mayor.

Financial matters will also be a focus Monday. The council will review the Pool Board report and consider transferring funds from the pool savings fund to the general fund. The official annual financial report for fiscal year 2025 will be presented for approval and filing. Council members are expected to discuss the 2026 health insurance renewal and approve adjustments to the library budget, including $27,000 in memorial and donation expenses, as well as an increase in the city’s monthly contribution to the library.

Several infrastructure projects are also on the agenda. The council will discuss water main improvement projects, set public hearings for water rate adjustments and review a policy for accepting electronic certified payroll reports on federally funded projects.

The Greene City Council meets Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the community center.
