A MercyOne Air Med helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing Tuesday evening after hitting a bird while flying over Worth County.
MercyOne Public Relations Manager Todd Mizener says the flight crew was able to land safely after the bird strike. No one was hurt, and there was no patient on board at the time.
The helicopter did sustain damage to its windshield, which was shattered in the incident. MercyOne has not released any further details at this time.
