The Hampton-Dumont-CAL High School Drama Department will present “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” Friday and Saturday at the Church of the Living Word in Hampton.
Rehearsals started in September and as the cast puts the finishing touches on “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” America Dominguez, who plays Witch Hex, reflected on the rehearsal process.
“I would say that we just have to give it our all. These last two weeks are always the most hectic weeks. It’s really about putting the finishing touches on everything, really making sure that we work well with sets, with people, just really kind of like making sure we all work well together, which is probably the most difficult thing that we have, which sounds crazy, but that’s just how it is. But I think that we’re doing good and I think that we will be ready for the weekend performance.”
First-year drama student Mattelyn McGuire, who plays three different characters in “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” says rehearsals have been both challenging and exciting ahead of this weekend’s performances.
“So far, I love the experience and I’m very glad I decided to go out. It is a little hectic, but I’m sure that that is what it’s supposed to be like. And we really have bonded with each other over the characters and different things that we need to do. We really start to build relationships when we’re helping each other and reminding each other of things we need to do and finish and working together to just make sure that the play is all one piece and nothing is left out. But I think we will be ready when it comes time.”
Showtimes for “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” are Friday at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the Church of the Living Word Auditorium in Hampton.
