The Hampton City Council Thursday approved a request for chickens on a property within city limits for Maricela Rodriguez and Mary Villanueva at 1013 4th Street Southeast. The council previously denied a request from them during the October 23rd meeting. The request was approved on a 5-1 vote with Bill Holmstrom casting the no vote.

In other business, the Hampton City Council approved a request from Wayne Riggins for sidewalk removal at 826 2nd Street Northwest at his own expense.

The council also passed on the first reading an ordinance which proposes a new no-parking zone on the east side of 3rd Street Southwest from Central Avenue West to 1st Avenue Southwest. This would be between Hardee’s and Kwik Star.
