The National Association of Farm Broadcasting Convention opens tomorrow in Kansas City, drawing more than six hundred farm broadcasters and ag-industry communicators from across the country. Bottomline Report host Mark Oppold, heard weekdays after sports on 104.9 KLMJ, says the annual gathering highlights the trusted role farm broadcasters play in rural communities.

“Your Farm Broadcaster is a trusted voice that you invite into your home, your office, or even your vehicles every day, providing news, information important to rural America.”

Oppold previously served as NAFB National President in 2013 and was inducted into the NAFB Hall of Fame last year.

Oppold notes that while the profession has evolved significantly since NAFB was founded in 1944, the mission remains the same—providing accurate, dependable information to farmers and ranchers across multiple platforms.

“Farm broadcasting has changed a lot since the association was formed in 1944, but the digital age, farmers and ranchers now get information on their phones, the podcast, even their wrist, but it’s still that trusted voice that you depend on.”

The convention runs through the end of the week in Kansas City.
