Board Approves Election Canvass, Road Work, and Courthouse Repairs

The Franklin County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday morning for a regular session in Hampton.

The board approved a road closure on Vine Avenue between 175th and 190th Streets for culvert work, along with right-of-way and utility permits for Manske Drainage and Franklin REC.

Supervisors certified the second-tier canvass of the November 4 City–School Election for the Hampton-Dumont and CAL school districts. The canvass confirmed Stephanie Powers, Elisa VanWert, and Brent Hansen as winners for Hampton-Dumont, and Mike Freie, Shaun Koenen, and Shon Osborn as winners in the CAL district.

Supervisors also directed staff to proceed with a full repointing of the courthouse as part of its tuckpointing project. Additionally, the board approved a lease agreement with Franklin General Hospital for space used by Environmental Health and Veterans Affairs.

The next session is scheduled for Monday, November 24, at 8:30 a.m. in the courthouse boardroom.
