
Iowa motorists are seeing steady fuel prices this week. AAA reports the average price for regular unleaded gasoline in the state remains unchanged from last week at $2.76 per gallon. That’s up 3 cents from this time last year. Nationally, regular unleaded is averaging $3.09, an increase of 1 cent from a week ago.
According to GasBuddy Wednesday afternoon, regular unleaded was priced at $2.88 per gallon in Hampton, $2.84 in Iowa Falls, and $2.89 in Parkersburg.
Diesel prices in Iowa fell 7 cents this week, with a statewide average of $3.69 per gallon. One year ago, diesel in Iowa averaged $3.29. Iowa’s diesel price remains 9 cents below the national average of $3.78.
In the crude oil market, West Texas Intermediate rose 38 cents to $59.14 per barrel, while Brent crude increased 22 cents to $63.21. Both benchmarks are trading well below prices from one year ago, when WTI was at $69.75 and Brent at $74.32.
