The Belmond City Council recently held a regular meeting.
Under new business, council members approved an engagement agreement with Ahlers and Cooney to provide bond counsel services for upcoming general obligation loan notes tied to the 3rd Street NE project and the Belmond Aquatic Center. The council also set Dec. 1 as the date for a public hearing on issuing up to $2.4 million in loan notes.
Members additionally approved an agreement with Chosen Valley Testing for geotechnical evaluation work at the wastewater treatment plant at a cost of about $5,000.
