North Iowa will see a windy stretch beginning this (Tue) evening, and while most of the region is not under an advisory, Cerro Gordo County is included in a Wind Advisory issued by the National Weather Service in Des Moines. The advisory runs from 6 p.m. tonight (Tue) to 6 a.m. tomorrow (Wed). Forecasters expect northwest winds of 20–30 miles per hour, with gusts up to 45 miles per hour. The advisory covers areas to the north and west, including much of north-central, northwest, and west-central Iowa.
For the rest of our area — including Franklin, Butler, Hardin, Grundy, and Wright counties — the weather service still expects blustery winds tonight (Tue) through tomorrow (Wed), with gusts up to 35 miles per hour. Drivers of high-profile vehicles should use extra caution.
Forecasters also note a chance for accumulating snow this weekend, though details remain uncertain. Residents are encouraged to monitor updates through the week. Local weather forecasts can be found online at RadioOnTheGo.com as well as the RadioOnTheGo mobile app.
