Iowa Unleaded Prices Hold Steady as Diesel Slips Two Cents

Iowa fuel prices saw slight movement this week according to the latest AAA and state fuel reports. The price of regular unleaded gasoline in Iowa dropped one cent from last week, averaging $2.75 per gallon—the same price as one year ago. The national average sits higher at $3.06, down three cents from a week ago.

Diesel prices statewide also slipped two cents, now averaging $3.67 per gallon. That’s 12 cents below the national diesel average of $3.79. One year ago, diesel in Iowa was priced at $3.31.

In crude oil markets, West Texas Intermediate fell $1.93 to $57.21 per barrel, while Brent crude decreased $1.45 to $61.76. Both benchmarks remain well below prices from this time last year.

Locally, as of Tuesday afternoon Gas Buddy shows regular unleaded prices at $2.88 in Hampton, $2.79 in Iowa Falls, and $2.76 in Parkersburg.
