A winter system moving across Iowa Friday evening through early Sunday is expected to bring several inches of snowfall across central and north-central Iowa.

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for almost the entire state of Iowa from Friday evening through Sunday morning. Moderate to heavy snow accumulations are expected with total amounts between six and 14 inches. A light glaze of ice is possible.

The highest potential for travel impacts will occur during this timeframe, as impacts may linger into Sunday after the snow ends.

The hazardous conditions are expected to impact post-Thanksgiving travel.
