Newly elected leaders in Grundy Center will take their oaths of office Monday as the City Council meets in regular session.

Mayor Dr. Paul Eberline, Council Member Erika Lamp, and Park Board Members Erik Stensland, Evan Bingman, and Lexie Hahn-Newman are all scheduled to be sworn in.

The council is also set to act on a resolution to accept a bid for a 1989 GMC dump truck and authorize either Mayor Eberline or Dan Bangasser to sign the documents for the transaction. Another resolution expected to be acted upon would promote Tyler McCormack to full-time police officer and set his wage.

Members will discuss an ordinance addressing junk and junk vehicles and may set a public hearing for Dec. 15. The agenda also includes possible publication of public hearing notices for 2026 budget amendments and for a water-rate ordinance reflecting a 14 percent increase from the Iowa Regional Utilities Association.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in the city hall council chambers.
