
Iowa motorists are seeing lower fuel prices this week. AAA reports the average price of regular unleaded gasoline in the state is $2.65 a gallon, down 10 cents from last week and 3 cents lower than a year ago. The national average is $3.00, a drop of 6 cents.
According to GasBuddy, prices as of Thursday morning (Dec. 4) were $2.81 a gallon in Hampton, $2.76 in Iowa Falls and $2.79 in Parkersburg.
Diesel prices in Iowa also declined, falling 6 cents to a statewide average of $3.61. One year ago, diesel averaged $3.28. Iowa’s diesel price is currently 12 cents below the national average.
Meanwhile, crude oil prices edged higher. West Texas Intermediate rose $1.61 to $59.12 a barrel, while Brent crude increased $1.05 to $62.81.
