Hampton-Dumont-CAL went 2-1 and North Butler-Clarksville went 1-2 at a girls wrestling quad hosted by the Bulldogs Thursday, as aired on 104.9 KLMJ and RadioOnTheGo’s YouTube channel.

In a 42-30 win over North Butler-Clarksville, the Bulldogs got pins by Marlee Maas at 130, Megan Severs at 140, Elsie Kuper at 170 and Maren Subbert at 190. NBC got pins by Ainsley Spain at 135 and Sydney Lovrien at 235.

The Bulldogs defeated Janesville 36-33. The pins were by Ava Blau at 135 and Severs at 140, with the rest of the points coming from forfeits.

HDCAL fell to Osage 63-18. Kuper at 170 and Avalon Mulford at 235 won by fall.

“We reached all of our goals for tonight,” Head Coach Brittany Stevens says. “We wanted to get two more wins underneath our belt, and we wanted to score as many points as we could on Osage. And we hit all three goals, so we’re feeling really good about it. We just keep working on those little things to make us better day by day, and it’s paying off. We’re battling a little bit of sickness, so I was a little worried about that, but we fought through until the end.”

In a 42-24 win over Janesville, North Butler-Clarksville got pins by Cate Lodge at 110, Addison Buseman at 115, Spain at 135 and Nadelyn Stanbrough at 140.

In their 72-12 loss to Osage, NBC got pins by Kaybrie Lovrien at 190 and Sydney Lovrien at 235 to finish the night.

Both teams will return to action at a tournament at Waverly-Shell Rock Tuesday.
