The Green Devils won eight matches by fall, one by technical fall and one by forfeit. Head Coach Adam Holm shares his thoughts on the team’s overall performance and an undefeated night for Brekken Schlader.
“Coming in with Northwood and North Union, they’re missing people, but we knew we’d have some good competition. I think the kids fought hard and we’re really pleased with that. Osage is Osage. We had some good matches, and we’re really pleased with that. They have really tough kids. As long as we competed, we’re happy with that one,” says Holm. “We’re really pleased with the way Brekken’s coming along. He was debating on going 190 or 215. He’s a strong kid and we want to keep him up there. We’re going to keep him at 215. He performed what we thought he could do. A few things we’ve got to tweak with him, just getting ready for the rest of season.”
Schlader went 3-0 with two falls and a technical fall. Morrison went 2-1 with two falls. Bartels went 2-1 with two falls. McCormick went 2-1 with two falls to lead the Wolves.
North Butler-Clarksville will return to action at Chris Davis Invite hosted by Wapsie Valley on Saturday.
