
The North Butler-Clarksville boys wrestling team placed fifth out of 15 teams with 119.5 points at the Chris Davis Invite hosted by Wapsie Valley on Saturday. The Wolves had five wrestlers place inside the top 5.
Jaxon Shew finished in second place at 113. Shew went 4-1 with two technical falls, a fall and a major decision. Shew lost the first place match by a 4-0 decision to Jagger White of Nashua-Plainfield.
Evan McCormick finished in fourth place at 150. McCormick went 2-2 with two falls. McCormick wrestled back through the consolation bracket and lost the third place match by Fall to Kort Steffens of South Winneshiek.
Peyton Knoll finished in fourth place at 165. Knoll went 2-2 with two falls. Knoll wrestled back through the consolation bracket and lost the third place match by Fall to Silas Keeling of Waukon.
McCabe Gansen finished in fourth place at 190. Gansen went 2-2 with a fall and won by medical forfeit. Gansen wrestled back through the consolation bracket and lost the third place match by Fall to Damian Ficken of West Marshall.
Maddox Morrison finished in fifth place at 138. Morrison went 2-2 with a major decision and technical fall. Morrison wrestled back through the consolation bracket and won the fifth place match by technical fall (21-5) over Asher Ebert of Riceville.
North Butler-Clarksville will return to the mat for a non-conference quad at Hudson on Thursday, December 11.
