
The Eldora-New Providence School Board held an annual meeting and an organizational meeting on Monday, December 1.
During the annual meeting, the board approved the district’s 2025–26 Lau Plan, which outlines services for English learners. The board approved a sharing agreement with Grundy Center for bowling. Board members authorized OPN Architects to design demolition plans for the old elementary gym structure at a cost of $31,500 plus expenses, and DCI to manage the bid process for an additional $10,000.
The board then reviewed the November board election results. The board also recognized retiring board member Jay Stanish for 12 years of service.
During the organizational meeting, the board elected Jared Cook as president and Marc Anderson as vice president. The board appointed the Ahlers & Cooney Firm as official legal counsel for the district. The board declared a 2017 Thomas school bus as surplus property and authorized the director of transportation to sell the bus.
