A Clear Lake business owner has been recognized for her entrepreneurial success. The NIACC John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center and North Iowa Area SBDC have named Megan Dennis, owner of Still Waters Day & Scalp Spa, as the December 2025 Entrepreneur of the Month.
Dennis, a former nurse and missionary, opened Still Waters after identifying a need for specialized scalp and facial treatments not available locally. She returned to school for esthetics and later completed NIACC’s Venture School program, where customer discovery helped shape her business model.
Mentors at the Pappajohn Center and North Iowa SBDC also guided her through budgeting, planning and launching her spa. Dennis said the goal of Still Waters is to provide clients with rest and relaxation, noting many first-time visitors come after receiving a gifted appointment.
The Pappajohn Center provides business counseling and support for new and existing entrepreneurs across the region.
