The first Iowa unemployment data since the federal government shutdown has been released. Iowa Workforce Development spokesman Jesse Dougherty says the September unemployment rate fell to 3.7%, down one-tenth of a point.
Dougherty says the state saw an increase in the labor force and a gain of 3,700 jobs in September. He cautions that the September report was delayed by the shutdown and should be viewed carefully.
