The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows School Board met Thursday and reviewed recent election results, welcoming Alison Marshall and SheRee Wharton as new board members. Both were sworn into office December 4th. The board recognized retiring members Elizabeth Severson for 16 years of service and Kelly Kirstein for four years.

During the organizational meeting, Troy Seaba was appointed board president and Craig Warnke vice president, with both taking the oath of office.

In new business, the board approved multiple requests to the School Budget Review Committee for modified supplemental amounts related to increased enrollment, open enrollment out and EL programming.

Superintendent Joe Nelson shared feedback from staff and surveys and it was noted they would like to see two principals, one at the elementary school and one at the middle school. The board then approved the fiscal year 2027 plan to hire separate principals for the elementary and middle schools.
