The Grundy Center City Council will meet in regular session tonight at City Hall.
Council members are expected to act on several ordinances and resolutions, including changes to city code related to junk and junk vehicles. A public hearing is scheduled on an ordinance that would amend Chapter 51 by adding definitions and rules concerning hobby vehicles, right of entry, disposal authority and nuisance procedures.
The council will also hold a public hearing on proposed fiscal year 2026 city budget amendments. Following the hearing, members are expected to consider a resolution approving those budget changes.
Another public hearing is scheduled on an ordinance that would amend Chapter 92.02 and increase water rates due to a 14% rate increase notice from the Iowa Regional Utilities Association. Council members will consider the first reading of that ordinance following the hearing.
Additional action items include accepting a bid for the next three years of annual auditing services and authorizing Mayor Mike Eberline to sign an agreement extending a lease with Maroon and White Inc. for space at Kids’ Campus.
The meeting is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
