
The Hampton-Dumont-CAL girls wrestling team placed fourth and Iowa Falls-Alden was sixth at Tuesday’s Michelle Jensen Memorial Tournament hosted by Humboldt.
Four Bulldogs earned podium finishes. Maren Subbert was the champion at 190, with first period pins in each match. Juliete Koch had two pins and a tech fall on her way to the 155 title. Elsie Kuper was second at 170, winning by fall in her first two matches before falling in the championship match. Ava Blau placed third at 135, winning two matches in the consolation bracket after falling in the opener.
Two Cadets were in the top three in their weight classes. Lauryn Silvey had three pins with an injury default in the semifinal on her way to a first place finish. Kymri Koenigsfeld was third at 125, winning four matches after falling in her first.
Both teams will return to action at Friday’s Iowa Falls-Alden Invitational.
