A 28-year-old Hampton man was arrested Tuesday after the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 400 block of 12th Avenue NW in Hampton.

Franklin County Sheriff Aaron Dodd tells RadioOnTheGo News deputies, with assistance from the Hampton Police Department, executed the warrant shortly after noon and found Ashton Ray Piersol hiding inside the residence. Dodd says Piersol had two outstanding warrants that initially carried no bond.

The warrants allege one count of domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury by impeding air or blood flow and one count of domestic abuse assault with intent to inflict serious injury. The charges are classified as an aggravated misdemeanor and a felony.

Piersol was initially held at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. A magistrate later set bond at $7,000 cash only, and Piersol was transported to the Hardin County Jail.
